
Hoosiers Win Nine Events at the Billy Hayes Invitational

Willie Morrison threw a career best 19.17m (62ft-10.75in) in the men's shot put. That is good for second in program history. David Schall finished fourth in the event. Dyrek Chowning finished third in the discus with a mark of 53.15m (174ft-4in). Matthew Birk finished second in the javelin throw with a mark of 57.40m (188in-4in).
The Hoosier men's 4x400m relay team of Zach Reitzug, Daniel Kuhn, Diquis Manley and Markevious Roach set a new season best time of 3:08.58 in a winning effort. The women's team of Riley Egbula, Kendell Wiles, Taylor Wiley and Taylor Williams also took first with a time of 3:41.27.
Laura Schroeder won the hammer throw with a mark of 62.74m (205ft-10in). Nycia Ford finished fifth with a season best mark of 53.33m (175ft). In the men's hammer, Andrew Miller took fourth with a mark of 63.18m (207ft-3in) and Dyrek Chowning finished seventh with a throw of 59.06m (193ft-9in).
Sophie Gutermuth and Sydney Clute finised first and second in the pole vault. Gutermuth cleared 4.25m (13ft-11.25in) and Clute cleared 4.15m (13ft-7.25in). Ari Nelson hit a season best 6.10m (20ft-.25in) on her final jump to win the long jump. Rachel Mather cleared the bar at 1.64m (5ft-4.5in) to take fifth in the high jump.
The men's 4x100m relay team of Tyler Bellaire, Cornelius Strickland, Treyton Harris and Markevious Roach took first with a season best time of 40.57. The women's team of Nelson, Egbula, Maya Caudle and Jaela Gay crossed first with a time of 46.62.
In the 800m run, Jordan Huntoon finished second with a time of 1:52.28. Taylor Wiley finished third in the women's 800m run with a time of 2:11.54. Kellie Davis finished fifth in the event. Katherine Receveur finished second in the 1500m run with a time of 4:23.92. Haley Harris finished fifth with a time of 4:26.66.
Strickland won the men's 100m finals with a season best time of 10.42. Phillip Moore finished sixth with a time of 10.93. Gay crossed in third in the finals of the 100m dash with a time of 12.13. Caudle finished fifth and McKayla Eves took seventh. Gay took third in the 200m dash with a time of 24.99. Bellaire took third in the 200m with a time of 21.79 and Derek Grimmer finished eighth with a time of 22.13.
Sydney Anderson finished third in the 400m dash with a season best time of 56.71. Zach Hart took sixth in the men's 400m dash with a time of 50.54. Mackenzie Bollinger finished third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.85. Jeyland Valentin crossed fifth with a time of 1:02.43.
The Hoosiers will be back in action next weekend as they compete in the Big Ten Championships in Lincoln, Neb.
