Indiana Earns CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men's and women's swimming and diving teams have been named tabbed as College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Teams after posting GPAs ranking in the top 10 in the country this semester.
The women's program posted a 3.61, good for 10th nationally, while the men's side earned a 3.41 GPA, ranking ninth in the country.
"Our coaching staff and athletic administration are so very proud of our swimmers and divers," said Indiana head swimming coach Ray Looze. "It is such an honor to coach two teams that are among the top in the NCAA both athletically and academically. This group of swimmers and divers personifies what it means to be a student athlete at the highest level in ever regard. This has been a very special year for our two programs and this positive news bodes very well for us as we pursue the Olympic dream this summer in Rio. "
To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the Spring semester. In total, 658 swimming and diving teams, representing 388 colleges and universities were chosen as Scholar All-America teams. The recognition comes as a result of each team's classroom performance in the past semester. It is only the second time in the program's 30+ year history of the program that more than 600 teams.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America -is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
