BLOOMINGTON – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recognized Indiana as one of its sports information honorees when the group announced its annual Grant Burger Media Award winner and finalists this week.
IU was one of 10 sports information departments nationally that were recognized by the AVCA as Indiana was chosen as the honoree for the Northeast region. Jeremy Rosenthal, Indiana's media relations contact for volleyball, wrapped up his second season with the program last fall.
"A well -deserved honor for Jeremy to be recognized by the AVCA for the Northeast Region Award," IU head volleyball coach Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan said. "Jeremy has found a lot of success in this profession because he treats people and his job like family. He cares immensely about our program and doing everything he can, inside and outside of the box, to expose our program to as many people as possible through all mediums."
Rosenthal is a 2010 graduate of Indiana University. After a stop at the College of Charleston, he returned to Bloomington in the fall of 2013 as part of the IU Athletics media relations staff. Rosenthal will begin his third year with the Indiana volleyball program this fall.
"Jeremy has done an exemplary job of promoting IU volleyball as a media contact and content creator," IU associate athletic director Jeremy Gray said. "He has given nothing less than his very best for that program, our students and IU."
