Incoming Freshman Pierre Finishes Stroke Play at U.S. Women's Amateur

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana - Elisa Pierre, who is an incoming freshman for head coach Clint Wallman and the Hoosiers in 2016-17, wrapped up the stroke play portion of the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pa., on Tuesday at 10-over par. She posted back-to-back rounds of 5-over par 76 the last two days to finish in a tie for 94th.
The top 64 golfers advance to the match play portion of the tournament and the cut ended up being 5-over par to advance.
In her opening round, Pierre carded six bogeys and one birdie to go with 11 pars and then followed that up with two birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey in round two.
Pierre qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur by finishing in a tie for fifth at local qualifying earlier this summer in California (Read Story).
