Sanjuan posts seventh place finish as Hoosiers complete Ptarmigan Ram Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Senior Ana Sanjuan shot 2-under par for the day and helped the Indiana Hoosiers to a seventh place finish on the final day of the Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Tuesday.
Sanjuan, who birdied two holes on the day, shot a 70 in the third and final round for a combined for a 1-over par 217. Her score qualified as her third-best three round score of her Hoosier career and tied for seventh overall.
Junior Alix Kong, who sat in a tie for ninth place after day one, finished in a tie for 11th with a score of 220 and final 18-hole total of 75. Freshman Elisa Pierre and sophomore Erin Harper each turned in 56th place finishes, each carding 233 in the opening match of the 2016-17. Junior Pear Siriko followed closely behind with a 77 in Tuesday's round at the Ptarmigan Country Club with a combined score of 235.
Competing as an individual, senior Theresa-Ann Jedra shot a 76 in round three as she combined for a score of 232.
IU finished the three-round tournament with a combined team score of 899, seven strokes behind fifth place finishers Nevada and Oregon State. San Jose State claimed top honors in the tournament, finishing 7-over par for a three round total of 871
The Hoosiers return to action at the Mary Fossum Invitational hosted by Michigan State on Sept. 24-25.
