Hoosiers Featured in Athlon Sports Preview

The Athlon Sports 2016-17 college basketball preview was delivered today and the Hoosiers are featured prominently.
Sophomore Thomas Bryant is featured on the cover and was named third-team Preseason All-American and first-team Preseason All-Big Ten. He shot a school-record 68.3% from the field and averaged 11.9 points and 5.8 rebounds.
Junior Josh Newkirk was listed as one of 14 impact transfers. The Raleigh, N.C., native came to IU after playing two seasons at Pittsburgh.
The Hoosiers were picked third in their Big Ten poll but felt if Newkirk and sophomore OG Anunoby took the next step, the Hoosiers could win the Big Ten title again.
Junior James Blackmon, Jr. was tabbed third team All-Big Ten. He played just 13 games a year ago after undergoing knee surgery and averaged 15.8 points and shot 46.3% from three-point range.
There also is a look back on the careers of members of the 2011 freshman class which includes former Hoosier All-American Cody Zeller.
