SAN FRANCISCO – The Indiana volleyball team moved to 5-0 on the season with a 3-1 (25-20, 19-25, 25-19, 25-16) win over San Francisco on Friday night.
Senior Allison Hammond set a career-high with 19 kills for the match. Redshirt freshman Kendall Beerman continued her productive play with 16 kills and hit .483 for the match.
Senior Megan Tallman continued to climb the record books as she moved into sixth on the Hoosiers all-time list for career assists and now has 3,063 with her 41 in the match tonight.
In the theme of a variety of players stepping up for IU, freshman Hayden Huybers saw her first extended action of the season and made the most of it. Huybers collected three kills and two aces to provide the Hoosiers momentum late in the match.
The Hoosiers continued to put pressure on their opponents with their service game. Indiana totaled seven aces for the match.
Up next the Hoosiers take on Princeton and Columbia tomorrow as they continue play in the San Francisco Invitational.
