BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana Women's Golf team returns to the links for its second team tournament of the season when it takes part in the Mary Fossum Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The 54-hole tournament hosted by Michigan State gets underway at Forest Akers West on Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start.

LAST TIME AROUND
The Hoosiers kicked off the 2016-17 at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. where they finished seventh out of 16 teams competing. IU placed two in the top 15 with senior Ana Sanjuan shooting one of her best rounds in school history and finished tied for seventh overall with a three round score of 217 (+1). Sophomore Alix Kong finished tied for 11th (71-74-75, 220) as she finished 4-over par.
AT THE MARY FOSSUM INVITE
The Hoosiers have long attended the Mary Fossum Invite, the 33rd time the event has been hosted by the Michigan State Spartans. IU has finished on top three times (1984, 1993, 1999). This year's participation in the tournament, however, is the first for IU since the 2013-14 season.
THREE COMPETE AT CARDINAL CLASSIC
Three individuals saw some action this week as redshirt senior Paige Crafton, redshirt freshman Carolina Garrett and freshman Emma Fisher took part in the Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State. Garrett, in her first appearance after sitting out last season, finished in a tie for 27th
HOOSIERS FINISH SEVENTH IN FIRST TIME OUT
The 2016-17 campaign kicked off on Sept. 12-13 at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. where the Hoosiers posted a seventh place overall finish. Senior Ana Sanjuan shot 1-over par to lead her team with a tied for 7th place finish (72-75-70, 217). Sophomore Alix Kong also finished in the top 15, as she finished 4-over par (71-74-75, 220) for a T-11th finish.
