BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Hoosiers will head west to Lawrence, Kansas to compete in the Rim Rock Farm Classic on Saturday morning. It will be the third meet of the season for Indiana, and the first one away from Bloomington. The men's 8k race will begin at 10:00AM EST. The women's 6k run will begin about an hour later.
Indiana will battle with Kansas, Central Missouri, Oral Roberts, Rice and UMKC. The men's team enters the race as the only ranked team, sitting strongly at 14th. On the women's side, Kansas is ranked inside the top 30 according to this week's US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll.
The Hoosiers will look for another strong outing after winning efforts from both teams at the Indiana Intercollegiate meet. Katherine Receveur debuted last meet with a great race, finishing as the runner-up. Brenna Calder boasts a pair of top three finishes to kick off her season. In her first official race in the IU kit, Hannah Stoffel took sixth place.
Matt Schwartzer led the way for the men's victory with a third place finish back on the 16th of September. In his first collegiate meet of his career, Ben Veatch notched a fourth place finish. Jason Crist, Mark Chandler and Kyle Mau rounded out the IU scoring.
