Game Notes: Indiana vs. Michigan

Setting The Scene
• Indiana (3-2, 0-2 B1G East) welcomes No. 17/16 Michigan (4-1, 1-1 B1G East) for IU's 105th Homecoming on Saturday, Oct 14. Kickoff is set for Noon EDT at Memorial Stadium (52,929; FieldTurf) on ABC.
• The Hoosiers own a 44-54-6 record on Homecoming.
• IU will host U-M for the fifth time on Homecoming and the first time since 1997.
• The teams have split the previous four meetings.
• Indiana last defeated a ranked team on Oct. 1, 2016, a 24-21 win over No. 17 Michigan State at Memorial Stadium.
• The Hoosiers staff and players will "go pink" in support of breast cancer awareness.
The Coaches
• Tom Allen made his debut as Indiana head coach at the 2016 Foster Farms Bowl. He was named IU's 29th head coach on Dec. 1, 2016. The New Castle, Ind., native joined the Hoosiers as associate head coach/defense on Jan. 15, 2016. A 2016 Broyles Award nominee, Allen engineered one of the top defensive turnarounds in the country, as Indiana improved substantially in every major statistical category. (full bio on page 16)
• Jim Harbaugh is 24-7 (.774) in his third season at Michigan. He owns an 82-34 (.707) overall record with stints at Stanford (2007-10) and San Diego (2004-06). Harbaugh coached the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-14.

• In its 27-0 whitewashing of Charleston Southern last weekend, Indiana posted its first shutout since Oct. 30, 1993, against Michigan State (10-0).
• The Hoosiers did not allow a completion (0-for-10) for the seventh time in school history and the first time since Oct. 19, 1985, vs. Minnesota.
• CSU's zero passing yards are tied for the second-fewest allowed in program history. IU stifled Purdue to -2 passing yards in a 26-0 win on Nov. 24, 1945.
• Indiana is second nationally averaging 6.8 three-and-outs per game.
• The Hoosiers have won 11 of its last 12 non-conference games.
• In his first career start, redshirt freshman Peyton Ramsey threw for 321 yards on 32-of-41 passes (78.0 percent) with two touchdowns. He also rushed for 54 yards on 15 carries and recovered a fumble for a TD.
• Ramsey became the first freshman to throw for 300-plus yards since Kellen Lewis (321 yards) at Minnesota on Nov. 4, 2006. His 32 completions share ninth on the program's single-game list.
• Redshirt freshman wide receiver Taysir Mack tallied his first two career touchdowns, including a 45-yarder, and had career-highs with seven receptions for 111 yards.
• Mack is the first freshman to go over 100 yards since Tandon Doss against Northwestern on Oct. 25, 2008.
