BLOOMINGTON, Indiana – Indiana senior Brendon Doyle was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, the conference office announced. It's the first weekly honor for the Louisville native after he claimed co-medalist honors at the Windon Memorial on Monday.
Doyle is the first Indiana golfer to receive the weekly award from the conference since Jake Brown on March 2, 2016 after he captured medalist honors at the Hoosier Invitational.
At the Windon Memorial, Doyle finished with a score of 206 (-4) to tie for medalist honors. He entered the final round tied for 13th but posted a career-best round of 65 (-5) on the final 18 holes to finish at the top. His 65 is the lowest 18-hole score by an Indiana golfer since Brown posted a 62 on March 1, 2016.
Indiana will be back in action Oct. 16-17 when they host the 12-team field at the Crooked Stick Invitational at Crooked Stick Golf Club.
