Indiana In Seventh After Day One of Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior Erin Harper and freshman Mary Parsons both shot 1-over par as Indiana Women's Golf completed the first round of the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational at University Club of Kentucky on Friday afternoon.
Harper and Parsons are tied for 17th overall, shooting 1-over par (73) each. Parsons secured a team-high four birdies on the day and is two strokes behind the field's leader. Harper played a solid even first nine holes while securing two birdies on the day.
Sophomore Elisa Pierre was in next with a 76 (T36th) while freshman Priscilla Schmid is one stroke behind her with a 77 (T46th). As a team, Indiana tallied up 11 birdies in the opening 18 holes.
As a team, Indiana combined for a 297 and currently is in seventh place overall with just six strokes separating seventh and fourth place. Notre Dame currently leads the field (284) with host Kentucky (288) in second.
Hoosier individuals playing in the event all came in T79th with sophomore Carolina Garrett, senior Pear Siriko and freshman Angela Aung all carding 81 in the opening round.
Due to inclement weather on Sunday, the tournament format has been changed to a 36-hole day on Saturday to conclude the event. The final two rounds will start with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
