Bettie Lou Evans Invitational Up Next For Indiana Women’s Golf

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana Women's Golf team is setting its sights on the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational which gets underway Friday at University Club in Lexington, Ky. The 54-hole tournament will start each day with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

IU COMES IN SEVENTH AT COEUR D'ALENE
Following one of the lowest rounds in school history, the Hoosiers wrapped up the Coeur D'Alene Invitational on Sept. 27 with a seventh-place finish. IU shot a 283 in the second round, tying for the third-lowest round in school history. They closed out the 54-hole tournament with a score of 866 to come in at the top half of the 18-team field.
FRESHMEN STEPPING UP
Through three tournaments of the fall season, IU's three freshmen have contributed to a big way in the team scores. Mary Parsons and Angela Aung have played in both tournaments while Priscilla Schmid saw competition for the first time at the Coeur D'Alene Invitational. The trio has combined for five rounds at or under par this season.
EAGLE FOR EMMA
Sophomore Emma Fisher tied for a career low 69 in the second round of the Coeur D'Alene Invitational, which included an eagle on hole 11, par 5. She combined for a 220 in the event to place T34th overall. This season, Fisher has posted two rounds under par with a 69 at both the Ptarmigan Ram Classic and at Coeur D'Alene.
HOOSIERS FINISH SIXTH AT PTARMIGAN
The opening tournament of the 2017-18 season is in the books for IU, who finished sixth overall (899) in a 15-team field at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Sept. 17-18. Junior Erin Harper led the field tied for 11th overall while freshman Elisa Pierre tied her career low round in the final 18 holes to come in T17th.
WHAT'S NEXT
Indiana wraps up the fall season at the Ladies Fall Intercollegiate Invitational Oct. 27-29 in John's Creek, Georgia. The 54-hole tournament is hosted by Louisville.
