Hoosiers Defeated at Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Elizabeth Asdell and Deyshia Lofton led the Indiana volleyball team with six kills each, but the Hoosiers fell in three sets (25-13, 25-14, 25-16) at Iowa on Friday at Carver Hawkeye Arena.
Sophomore setter Victoria Brisack led the Hoosiers (12-13, 1-12) with 16 assists and freshman Bayli Lebo added eight digs.
Meaghan Koors and Deyshia Lofton each tallied an ace in the match for Indiana.
The Hoosiers came out strong to start the match as they led 5-1 early in the first set. Iowa countered with a 14-5 run to go up 15-10 and won the opening set, 25-13.
In the second set the Hoosiers scored three of the first four points to take a 3-1 lead. Iowa used an 8-1 run to go up 9-4. They won the second set, 25-14.
In the final set, the Hawkeyes hit .545 with 14 kills and two errors. Asdell connected on two kills on three attempts, but seven attack errors hurt the Hoosiers chances at a comeback.
Iowa won the final set, 25-16 to win the match in three sets.
Up next Indiana will travel to Lincoln, Neb., to take on the Cornhuskers tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. ET.
