Hoosiers Tame Tigers

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University men's tennis team (6-0) knocked off the Princeton Tigers, 5-2 on Saturday at the IU Tennis Center.
Doubles play was as close as its been this season as it came down to the final match at one doubles. Freshmen Bennett Crane and Zac Brodney picked up a 6-4 win at three doubles. With a loss at the two doubles spot, the Hoosiers left it all to one doubles. Juniors Raheel Manji and Keivon Tabrizi came through with a big win over the No. 16 ranked doubles team of Alex Day and Luke Gamble, 6-4.
In singles, Manji faced Day again who is ranked No. 109 in the country for singles and won 6-2, 6-0. At the two spot, Tabrizi knocked off Diego Vives in a 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) win. Leading 3-0 in the match, the Tigers responded with two wins, at four and five singles. Sophomore Antonio Cembellin clinched the big Hoosiers victory with an epic three-set win at three singles. Crane put the cherry on top with a comeback win at six singles.
Up next, the Hoosiers play a mid-week match against the Louisville Cardinals on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 6 PM in the IU Tennis Center.
