BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana men's tennis (10-8) fell to the No. 18 Michigan Wolverines, 7-0, Friday night inside the IU Tennis Center.
Michigan kicked things off by obtaining the doubles point. Junior Keivon Tabrizi and sophomore Afonso Salgado played a tight match at the three spot but lost 6-4. The two spot was where Michigan clinched the point, leaving the top spot unfinished with sophomore Antonio Cembellin and senior Stefan Lugonjic tied 4-4 against the No. 66 duo of Jathan Malik and Connor Johnston.
The first sets in singles were as close as they've been this season as no first sets were decided by three games or more.
Once the second sets started finishing, the Wolverines extended their lead to 2-0 with a straight set win at the six spot. Michigan edged the Hoosiers in the remaining with the clinching victory coming at the second spot.
Indiana will finish the weekend with a match against the Michigan State Spartans (10-9) on Sunday, April 2 from either the IU Tennis Center or the outdoor courts adjacent to the tennis center.
