Indiana Drops Match at No. 30 Wisconsin

MADISON, Wisc. – Indiana men's tennis (13-11) began its final weekend of the regular season with a loss to the No. 30 Wisconsin Badgers, 7-0, inside the Nielsen Tennis Center. This match marked the eighth time IU has played a ranked team this season.
Doubles went the Badgers way as they took the first two spots, 6-3 and 6-2.
In singles, sophomore Oliver Sec was the only Hoosier to win his first set but three others came close. At the one, two, and three spots, the Badgers needed a tiebreaker to take the first set. At the No. 2 and No. 3, the tiebreak scores were 9-7.
Wisconsin jumped out to a 3-0 lead when they took matches at the third and four spots, needing a tiebreaker in the second set of four singles.
Junior Raheel Manji extended his match at the top spot with a 6-3 second set win but fell in his match. Freshman Bennett Crane and Sec also took their matches to the third set but both fell, giving the Badgers their 7-0 win.
On Sunday, the Hoosiers play at Minnesota in the regular season finale. The match in Minneapolis will get underway at 1:00 p.m. ET.
