Hoosiers Fall at No. 2 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Indiana men's tennis (11-9) fell to the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes, 7-0, on Friday night at OSU Varsity Tennis Center.
Junior Raheel Manji made his return to the lineup and played at one doubles with sophomore Antonio Cembellin. Their match against the No. 20 pair went unfinished as the Buckeyes won at the two and three spot to obtain the doubles point.
The singles of Ohio State put the pressure on the Hoosiers as they set out a lineup featuring four players in the latest ITA rankings. The No. 1 and No. 7 ranked players put the Buckeyes up 3-0 with straight set wins.
At six singles, freshman Zac Brodney pushed his match to a tiebreaker in the second set but fell in a match that clinched a victory for the Buckeyes and a 21-3 record.
The three remaining matches went to Ohio State but not without a third set at two singles. After falling in the first set to No. 81 JJ Wolf, senior Matthew McCoy came back and won 6-4 in the second set, forcing a third. Wolf edged his way to a 6-4 third set win and completed the Buckeyes 7-0 win.
Up next, Indiana will travel to State College for a match against the Penn State Nittany Lions on Sunday at Noon.
