Six Named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Big Ten announced 2016-17 Distinguished Scholars on Wednesday as Indiana Softball had six selections, the most for the program in the nine-year history of the award. Indiana had the second most on the list amongst Big Ten softball teams.
The award is given to letterwinners in their second year at the institution who post a GPA of at least 3.7 during the academic year.
Maria Latimer, Aimilia McDonough, CaraMia Tsirigos and Taylor Uden each earned the accolade for the second time in their careers, while Erin Lehman and Emily Kirk are first-time recipients.
