• Richard Lagow's 410 yards passing is the fourth time he has surpassed the 300-yard passing mark. He is the only player in IU history to have two 400-yard passing games in his career. The fifth-year senior is also the first quarterback to record 400-plus yards against Ohio State since Devin Garnder's 451 on Nov. 30, 2013.
• Lagow's 65 pass attempts are a single-game Indiana record.
• Lagow threw for three touchdowns, his fourth career three-touchdown game. He finished the game 40-of-65 for 410 yards and three touchdowns. The 40 completions rank second all-time at IU while the 410 yards are fifth.
• Wide receivers Simmie Cobbs Jr. and Luke Timian become the third duo in IU history to record double-digit receptions, and first since Tandon Doss (15) and Damarlo Belcher (10) vs. Michigan in 2010.
• Cobbs came back from a season-long injury to score his fifth career touchdown and recorded his fifth 100-yard game. He ended with a career-high 11 receptions for 149 yards and a touchdown.
• Timian notched career-highs in both receptions (10) and yards (72).
• In his first season with the Hoosiers in 2016, Ian Thomas caught three balls for 28 yards. He opened the 2017 season tonight with 53 yards on five receptions and his first career touchdown catch on the first possession score. He added another score in the third quarter.
• Junior wideout Donavan Hale also had career-high marks with 67 yards and five receptions.
• Redshirt freshman quarterback Peyton Ramsey saw his first career action, completing 2-of-3 passes for 10 yards and also rushing for 10 yards on three attempts.
• Redshirt freshman Taysir Mack made his first career catch for 14 yards.
• Senior linebacker Tegray Scales recorded 10-plus tackles for the 11th time of his career. It was also the fourth-straight game in which he had 10-plus tackles dating back to last season. The linebacker finished with a game-high 12 tackles (9 solo).
• Sophomore husky Marcelino Ball had 11 tackles (8 solo) – his second career double-digit tackle game. He also added a half-TFL.
• Indiana's defense forced four three-and-outs in the first half.
• Fifth-year senior Griffin Oakes' three points put him in sole possession of third place (271) for the most points in an Indiana career. He passed Antwaan Randle El (270) with his three extra points.
• Redshirt sophomore Haydon Whitehead made his debut at punter, downing the Buckeyes inside-the-20 three times. He averaged 41.0 yards a punt with a long of 49 yards.
• Hunter Littlejohn (redshirt sophomore), Delroy Baker (redshirt junior), Timian, Hale, Mike Majette (junior), and Brandon Wilson (redshirt sophomore) all made their first career starts.
• The Hoosiers scored a touchdown on their opening possession, a feat they did four times last season.
• Indiana played host to College Gameday and the first ESPN Megacast outside of the College Football Playoff Semifinal and National Championship games.
• A sellout crowd of 52,929 is tied for the fourth highest attended game in program history.
• Lee Corso was presented with the Bill Orwig Award at the end of the first quarter. The award recognizes outstanding contributions made by a non-alumnus to IU Athletics and is named for the former AD (1961-75). A 2010 IU Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, Corso coached the Hoosiers from 1973-82 and led the program to its first bowl victory, 38-37, over No. 9 BYU in the 1979 Holiday Bowl.
• Indiana opened their season on a Thursday night for the fifth time (2009, 2010, 2013, 2015) in eight years and the fourth time (2009, 2010, 2013) in Memorial Stadium history.
• This is the 11th time IU opened the season against a ranked team and the first time in Bloomington.
• For the first time since 1996, a Big Ten matchup was played on the opening weekend of the season.
• Redshirt junior Wes Martin, Scales, Lagow, and senior Greg Gooch served as tonight's game captains.
• The Hoosiers won the opening coin toss and deferred.
