Hoosiers Earn Win Over Hofstra, 3-1

WASHINGTON – It took a 31-29 win in set four as the Indiana volleyball team won its fifth match of the season with a 3-1 (25-18, 25-16, 19-25, 31-29) victory over Hofstra on Saturday.
Freshman Alexis Parker led the Hoosiers with 11 kills and Indiana had five players with at least eight kills in the match.
Sophomore setter Victoria Brisack posted her third double-double of the season with 48 assists and 13 digs.
The Hoosiers (5-0) won the each of the first two sets, but Hofstra captured set three, 25-19 to force a fourth set.
The fourth set went back and forth with 13 ties and four lead changes. With it tied 29-29, sophomores Kendall Beerman and Deyshia Lofton blocked Emma Price to give the Hoosiers set and match point at 30-29.
It was another block, this time by Lofton and junior Elizabeth Asdell that gave the Hoosiers the set and match win.
Up next the Hoosiers will close out the George Washington Invitational with a match against LIU-Brooklyn at 4:30 p.m.
