
Swartz’s Goal, Muse’s Shutout Lead No. 2 Hoosiers to Road Win at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The No. 2-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team defeated Big Ten rival Rutgers, 1-0, on Friday night at Yurcak Field in Piscataway, N.J.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers (13-2, 6-0 Big Ten) dominated the match in the first half, out-shooting the Scarlet Knights (4-10-1, 2-5), 13-3. Despite the lopsided advantage, the match was scoreless after 45 minutes.
• With the match entering its final minutes, Trevor Swartz scored the match-winner for the Hoosiers in the 84th minute. Andrew Gutman made a great play to keep possession at the left end line. Gutman played a great pass to Swartz, who connected with his left foot from 12-yards away to the top-right corner.
• The goal was Swartz's first of the season and marked the sixth assist on the year for Gutman.
• IU's Trey Muse posted his sixth individual shutout of the season, making one save.
NOTABLES
• Indiana is 6-0 in the Big Ten with the victory over Rutgers and sits atop the league standings with 18 points, five points clear of second-place Michigan State.
• IU will win the outright Big Ten regular season title with a win in the either of the team's final two matches. One draw would earn in the final two games would earn the Hoosiers a share of the league title.
• IU has clinched a top-four seed for the Big Ten tournament and will host a quarterfinals match.
• With the victory, Indiana is 6-0 in Big Ten conference play for the first time since 2002, when IU won the league regular season title with that record.
