Parsons, Miestowski Lead Hoosiers To Fourth Place at Alexa Stirling Intercollegiate

Difficult scoring conditions in Sunday's final round did not deter the Indiana women's golf team, as they moved up one spot to finish fourth in the 11-team field at the Alexa Stirling Intercollegiate at the Atlanta Athletic Club.
CHIP-INS
• Sophomore Mary Parsons followed up her second round 69 on Saturday with a final round 73. She finished at 5-over par with a score of 221 to tie for fifth place, her second Top 5 finish this season.
• Her final round was a bit of a mixed bag, but she was able to keep it together to move up the leaderboard. After a bogey on the fourth hole, she came right back with an eagle on the par 5 fifth hole. Then a bogey on 10 and a double bogey on 12 had her at 2-over par for the round, but she closed the round in style with a birdie on the final hole.
• Parsons played the Par 5's in 2-under par for the tournament, tied for the fourth-best total in the field. Her 39 pars over the 54 holes were the second-most in the field.
• Five of the last eight rounds by Parsons have been under par.
• Freshman Alexis Miestowski recorded the best finish of her young career, closing with a round of 2-over 74 to sit in a tie for seventh place at 6-over par for the tournament (75-73-74; 222).
• The final round for Miestowski featured three birdies – giving her nine for the tournament – in addition to three bogeys and a double bogey. The nine birdies tied for the sixth-most in the field for the week.
• Senior Erin Harper earned a tie for 25th after a final round 77 put her at 12-over par (73-78-77; 228). She logged four birdies, matching Miestowski's total of nine for the tournament to tie for the sixth-most.
• Graduate transfer Kari Bellville also posted a 77 in Sunday's final round and took home a T32 finish at 14-over par (81-72-77; 230). Bellville recorded a par on each of the first 11 holes before a birdie on the 12th. However, she posted an 8 on the par 4 13th hole and then carded two more bogeys on the way in. She finished the tournament with 34 pars on her scorecards.
• Angela Aung finished in a tie for 57th after a final round 84 put her at 24-over par for the tournament.
• Priscilla Schmid closed with a 76 on Sunday while competing as an individual to tie for 35th at 15-over par for the tournament.
