BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Soccer netted a pair of goals in the final 6:31 to come back and defeat Minnesota on Senior Day on Sunday afternoon at Bill Armstrong Stadium, 3-2. Redshirt senior Mykayla Brown scored twice in the game, including the game-winner in the 86th minute.
KEY MOMENTS
• Brown put the Hoosiers up early, as she found the back of the net in the fifth minute. Junior Meghan Scott sent in the short corner to senior Abby Allen, whose cross bounced just outside the six-yard box and fell to Brown, who caught Minnesota goalkeeper Maddie Nielsen off her line and slotted it in.
• The Golden Gophers found the equalizer in the 31st minute as April Bockin brought the ball up from the midfield and scored from 12 yards out.
• Minnesota's Patricia Ward made it 2-1 in the 75th minute on a header off a Golden Gopher corner kick.
• Scott tied the game at 2-2 in the 84th minute on her first goal of the season. After she threw the ball in deep to senior Maya Piper, Piper dropped it right back off to her. Scott fired from 23 yards out just as junior Chandra Davidson was coming across the front of the box to block the Minnesota keeper and allow the ball to find the back of the net inside the far post.
• Indiana netted the game-winner just one minute and 39 seconds later. Piper started things as she took the ball away from the Golden Gophers just inside the midfield line. She kicked it through to Brown, who had a great run before shooting from atop the 18-yard box past the diving Minnesota keeper.
NOTABLES
• Indiana improves to 7-5-2 on the year with a 3-4-0 Big Ten mark. Minnesota falls to 8-6-1 with a 4-3-1 conference record.
• Indiana had just three shots in the second half, with two of those resulting in goals.
• Brown has now scored six goals on the year, with five of those coming in the last five games. Sunday's game marks her first multi-goal game since also scoring twice Oct. 22, 2016 against Purdue.
• With two assists, Piper now has seven on the season, tied with teammate Abby Allen and Rutgers' Nicole Whitley for the most in the conference.
• The victory was the first for the Hoosiers against Minnesota since 2013.
• Prior to the game, the Hoosiers honored the senior class of Allen, Brown, Claudia Day, Caroline Dreher, Annelie Leitner, Justine Lynn, Maya Piper and Alex Reibel with a pre-game ceremony.
QUOTABLE
"Being down a goal, we had to keep a level head and after that first goal to tie it, we gathered ourselves together, talked it out and told each other we had to keep fighting. At the end of the day it comes down to effort and effort wins games.
It was an amazing feeling, especially with it being Senior Day. It's kind of a perfect way to win. Everyone contributed to that and this one was amazing."

"We substituted Davidson, Piper and Scott back in after they scored to go up 2-1. We talked to them and told them 'we need to get this done.' I'm just so incredibly of the effort – that's what this team is about. We talked in pre-game about the details and we got two opportunities there at the end and we made the most of it.
This is a really special day for eight special people. To come out with the victory is just the cherry on top. I'm just so happy for these kids, they've worked so hard over the last four or five years. This is not the end of us, this is the beginning as we've gotten ourselves out that rut we were in. We're expecting to win. If we keep that mentality, we're going to get ourselves where we need to go."
