BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana wrestling team will take part in the Navy Classic on Saturday Nov. 17 in Annapolis, Md.
2018 Navy Classic
Date: Saturday, Nov. 17
Venue: Wesley Brown Field House
Participating teams: Air Force, American, Brown, Bucknell, Campbell, Cleveland State, Delaware Valley, Edinboro, George Mason, Indiana, Kent State, Michigan State, Navy, Ohio, Old Dominion, Oregon State
Tickets: $10 adults, $5 students (18 years and under)
Live Scoring: FloArena will be providing live scoring
Projected session times:
10:00 am - preliminary rounds
2:30 pm - semifinals
5:00 pm – finals
Hoosiers in the Rankings
Two Hoosiers are ranked this week. Cole Weaver is ranked #11 in FloWrestling and #12 on InterMat. Bryce Martin is ranked #20 on InterMat.
Last Time Out
Last time out the Hoosiers secured their first dual win of the season with a 21-15 victory at SIU Edwardsville. Elijah Oliver started the dual with a 6-4 decision and Garrett Pepple and Paul Konrath tallied back-to-back pins for the Hoosiers. Bryce Martin and Dillon Hoey also picked up wins for Indiana.
Navy Classic in 2017
Last year the Hoosiers finished in fourth-place in the Navy Classic. Five Hoosiers finished in the top-four of their weight classes, led by runner-up finishes from Bryce Martin (165) and Devin Skatzka (174). Cole Weaver finished third at 141 and Elijah Oliver (125) and Garrett Pepple (133) each finished in fourth-place.
Home Opener Draws Near
The Hoosiers will host their first dual at home on November 30 against Northern Illinois with a start time of 7:00 p.m.
A couple of notes for traveling fans to the Navy Classic
Parking:
• Vehicle access to the Naval Academy is limited to those with a Department of Defense identification card.
• It is suggested that fans park at Truman Park and Ride (map and google directions link provided) and ride the shuttle to Wesley Brown Field House at the Naval Academy. Shuttle service will begin at 9:00 am and run through 8:00 pm. Please note there will be shuttles taking fans to the Navy football game and to the Navy Classic, so please pay attention to the signage in the front window of the shuttle so you are dropped off at the appropriate venue.
• A government issued identification card must be carried and presented by visitors to the USNA prior to being allowed onto The Yard.
