Indiana's total of 12 honorees were the most in the league, while the team's four first-team accolades were also the most in the conference.
After establishing himself as one of the best players in the nation, Gutman was unanimously selected as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team honoree. The Hinsdale, Ill. product has helped IU post a Big Ten-best 11 shutouts, while also being a force on the offensive end. Gutman ranks second in the conference with nine goals and third with seven assists. He also leads the Big Ten and ranks second in the nation with six game-winning goals.
Muse has continued to be a stalwart for the Hoosiers in goal, earning unanimous Goalkeeper of the Year and first-team accolades. Muse is the first Hoosier to win Goalkeeper of the Year after posting a league-leading eight solo shutouts and a 0.54 goals against average. The Louisville, Ky. product posted five shutouts in conference action and only surrendered three goals in league play.
After making an instant impact for Indiana, Maher was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year and to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. The Caseyville, Ill. native has started all 17 matches at center back for IU, helping the team post a Big Ten-leading 11 shutouts and allow the fewest goals in the conference (9). Maher is the 15th Hoosier to earn Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
For the second time in his career (2010), Yeagley was named Big Ten Coach of the Year. Yeagley helped guide the Hoosiers to the first 8-0 record in conference history and the 15th regular season championship in program history. The Hamilton, Mass. product had three game-winners for IU this season – No. 8 Notre Dame, No. 12 Michigan State and Butler.
Rounding out the All-Big Ten honors for IU were a pair of defenders – Mehl and Buckmaster. For the second-straight season, Mehl earned second-team accolades after posting one goal and one assist. Buckmaster earned his first honor after totaling three goals and two assists. Both played critical roles for Indiana's defense. The duo combined for 32 starts along the IU backline that allowed just nine goals and recorded 11 shutouts on the season.
