Postgame Notes
• Indiana defeated UT Arlington as part of the Hardwood Showcase, 78-64.
• This was the first meeting between Indiana and UT Arlington, the Hoosiers are now 1-0 in the series.
• Indiana improved to 4-1 on the season.
• IU's largest lead of the night was 20 points, at 48-28 with 18:06 to go.
• UTA cut the lead to 61-60 with 6:33 to go before IU closed the game out on a 17-4 run.
• The Hoosiers shot 55%, going 30-55 from the field. For the season, IU leads the Big Ten shooting 55.4%.
• Indiana outrebounded the Mavericks, 33-25. IU has won the battle of the boards in all five games this season.
• Only seven players saw action for the Hoosiers. Out for this game were Jerome Hunter (leg surgery), Race Thompson (concussion), Devonte Green (thigh), Zach McRoberts (back), DeRon Davis (achilles soreness).
• Three Hoosiers tallied double figures, Juwan Morgan (23), Romeo Langford (16), and Justin Smith (13).
• Senior forward Juwan Morgan recorded his 11th double of his career with 23 points and 10 rebounds. He now has nine 20-point efforts in his career. He scored 14 points in the second half. He played a season-high 36 minutes, including all 20 in the second half.
• Freshman guard Romeo Langford scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds, and notched two assists. This the fifth straight game he has scored in double digits. He missed the final 4:23 after being hit in the nose.
• Sophomore forward Justin Smith had his third double-digit contest of the season with 13 points while grabbing five rebounds. Smith played a season-high 34 minutes.
• Freshman forward Damezi Anderson scored seven points, all in the second half, and assisted on two baskets. His three-pointer as the shot clock was running down with 3:39 gave IU a 72-62 advantage.
• Redshirt senior forward Evan Fitzner had a pair of free throws that helped Indiana secure the lead. He ended the night with five points and five rebounds. He played a season-high 29 minutes.
• Sophomore guard Aljami Durham contributed to the Indiana victory by scoring six points. He did not play the final 27:58 after falling on his back earlier on a hard foul.
• Freshman guard Rob Phinisee contributed eight points, four assists, and four rebounds. He played 39 minutes, including the entire second half.
• The Hoosiers will continue their home stand on Friday, Nov. 23 vs. UC Davis. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
