Post-Game Notes
· Indiana began its 119th season on Tuesday night.
· The Hoosiers are 4-0 against Chicago State. Their last meeting was November 8th, 2013 where IU won 110-72.
· Freshmen Romeo Langford and Rob Phinisee received the start in tonight's season opener. This is the first time since James Blackmon Jr. and Robert Johnson in the 2014-15 season that two freshmen have been in the opening night starting lineup.
· Indiana's largest lead of the contest was 44 points.
· With one made free throw by Chicago State, the Hoosiers went on a 15-1 run that lasted 2:29 to make the score 53-26, putting the game away late in the first half.
· This is the second time in three years that the Hoosiers have scored 100 points or more in the season opener. Last time was against Kansas in 2016, when the Hoosiers defeated the Jayhawk, 103-99 in overtime in Hawaii.
· Four Hoosiers scored in double figures tonight.
· The Indiana bench made their contribution to the victory on Tuesday night with 51 points.
· Indiana shot 57% in the paint.
· The Hoosiers out rebounded the Cougars 52-33.
· Senior forward Juwan Morgan led the team in rebounds with eight while scoring nine points.
· Junior guard Devonte Green scored 15 points and had three assists.
· Redshirt senior forward Evan Fitzner scored 14 points in his first game with the Hoosiers.
· Redshirt sophomore guard Vijay Blackmon five points were his first in the Indiana uniform.
· Sophomore forward Clifton Moore had a career high four points while also having a career high three rebounds.
· Freshman forward Jake Forrester saw his first points at Indiana as he ended the contest with four.
· Redshirt senior guard Quentin Taylor had one rebounds for Indiana.
· Junior forward De'Ron Davis recorded four points and two rebounds.
· Redshirt junior guard Johnny Jager played four minutes in the contest.
