Post-Game Notes
• Today's game was the first Big Ten Conference game for both teams, Indiana won the contest over Northwestern, 68-66. The Hoosiers now lead the all-time series, 117-51 and have won three in a row in the series, all played in Bloomington. The Hoosiers will visit Evanston on January 22.
• Indiana shot over 50% from the field for the sixth time this season, shooting 55% and holding Northwestern to 44% shooting. The Hoosiers entered the game ranked 7th in the country in shooting at 52.6%
• A made layup late in the second half by Justin Smith helped the Hoosiers pull ahead 67-63 with 22 seconds remaining. After banked in three-pointer by Vic Law, Rob Phinesee's made free throw in the final seconds of the game aided in preserving the game, 68-66.
• There were 15 ties and 14 lead changes in the game on Saturday afternoon. Neither team led by more than 5 points.
• IU trailed 61-58 at the final media timeout with 3:33 to go.
• The Hoosiers held the Wildcats to 36.8% shooting from the field and 20.0% from three-point range in the second half.
• Two Hoosiers scored in double figures, Romeo Langford (20) and Juwan Morgan (17).
• Senior forward Juwan Morgan tallied his 13th career double-double as he ended the contest with 17 points and 12 rebounds. This was the fourth double-double of the season for the senior.
• Freshman guard Romeo Langford led the Hoosiers in points with 20. He also snagged four rebounds while seeing 34 minutes of action. His 12-foot floater with 39.7 seconds left and he forced a Wildcat turnover with 32 seconds left in the game. It was his 4th20-point or better effort of the season.
• Sophomore forward Justin Smith ended the afternoon with eight points as he clocked 18 minutes of action.
• Junior forward De'Ron Davis added four points and a rebound to the Indiana stat sheet.
• Junior guard Devonte Green scored six points while adding a pair of rebounds and assists.
• Redshirt senior forward Evan Fitzner contributed to the victory by notching three points and an assist.
• Sophomore guard Aljami Durham saw the court for 12 minutes where he scored seven points but was mired in foul trouble
• Freshman guard Rob Phinisee scored three points and an assist. He also made a late free throw that led to a strong defensive effort with three seconds remaining. He has started all 8 games this season.
• Redshirt Senior guard Zach McRoberts grabbed three rebounds while seeing 24 minutes of action.
• The Hoosiers will see their first Big Ten road game on Tuesday, Dec. 4 as they travel to Penn State. Tipoff if schedule for 7 p.m.
