"I love the fight out of this group. We got down early and had to fight our way back into it, go the lead, relinquished the lead, and then got it in the fourth. I'm really proud of the resilience I saw from Ali Patberg as she pressured all afternoon and to only have one turnover. It was fantastic to see the leadership of the team from her but it took the entire team effort. Great team effort and proud of this win, the shot that Coach Rhet (Wierzba) drew up for Jaelynn Penn was excellent as far as execution goes and great players make great plays."

KEY MOMENTS
- The Bruins (3-5) would come out with a 17-9 lead, but an 8-0 run for the Hoosiers led by Patberg - who scored six points in just over a minute span- tied it up at 17-all.
- A UCLA 3-pointer with 22 seconds left in the quarter was the difference maker as they led 20-17 after one complete.
- UCLA pushed its lead to 10, 27-17, in the early goings of the second quarter. However, the Hoosiers would get hot in the end of the frame, going on a 13-0 run in the final 5:07 to take a 37-30 lead at halftime.
- In the third, the Bruins would cut the deficit to three on multiple occasion but freshman guard Grace Berger would push it back to six on a left-wing 3-pointer with 4:39 remaining. Coming again for the lead, UCLA came within two with just under three minutes to play as IU took advantage from the line by Patberg and Gulbe.
- Momentum shifted in IU's favor to close out the third, as redshirt junior forward Brenna Wise used glass as the shot fell to give her team a 51-48 lead going into the fourth.
- The Bruins would regain the lead for the first time since the first quarter with 7:25 to play. It was part of seven lead changes and four ties in the game.
- With things knotted up at 62-all, Michaela Onyenwere's offensive rebound and putback gave UCLA the lead with 34 seconds remaining. But Indiana wasn't going away and after a timeout, Patberg dished the ball out to Penn on the left corner wing as she knocked down the 3-pointer with 29 seconds to go to put IU up 65-64.
- In the bonus, Patberg knocked down 1-of-2 at the line pushing the lead back up to two. On the opposite end, UCLA would draw the foul as Kennedy Burke, who added 15 points, also went 1-for-2 and despite the offensive rebound, turned the ball over on a travel with 5.1 seconds remaining. Penn would get sent to the line with 1.2 seconds remaining and make one in the bonus as UCLA couldn't get a shot off in the final second.
