THE COACHES
Indiana Coach Archie Miller is in his second season of guiding the Cream and Crimson. He has a 26-17 record and 11-9 ledger in the Big Ten since taking over the Hoosiers. He is 164-80 in 7-plus years as a head coach, which includes 6 years at the University of Dayton. His Flyer teams made NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his last four seasons, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2014. Jacksonville is coached by Tony Jasick, who is in his fifth season. Former IU manager Dan Bere' (2005) is an assistant with the Dolphins.
NEWS & NOTES
IU is rated 22nd in the latest AP poll and 21st in the NET.
The Hoosiers will be looking for their first undefeated calendar month since going 7-0 in November, 2012.
The Hoosiers have five Top 50 wins according to KenPom--Butler (29), Marquette (33), Louisville (37), Northwestern (42) and Penn State (43). Their only losses came on the road at Duke (1) and Arkansas (56).
Senior forward Juwan Morgan and freshman guard Romeo Langford were selected to the 10-member Preseason All-Big Ten team. Both are among 50 players listed as candidates for the 2019 Naismith Trophy and Wooden Award and Langford is among 20 players on the NABC Player of the Year watch list. Langford was named third-team Preseason All-American by ESPN.com and CBSSports.com and earned fourth-team honors from WatchStadium.com. Morgan earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors and USBWA Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week accolades after his record-setting 35-point effort against Butler. He has scored 1,030 career points. Langford's 20-point effort in his first Big Ten game is the most by an IU true freshman in their first conference outing since Eric Gordon had 25 in his first B1G contest at Iowa in 2008. He is the only Hoosier to score in double digits every game and has twice been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
