Hoosiers Travel to South Beach Duals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana wrestling team will travel south for competition against four ranked teams at the 2018 South Beach Duals in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The Hoosiers opponents will be North Carolina, North Dakota State, Cornell and North Carolina State. Other teams competing will be: Kent State, Lehigh, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Purdue, SIUE, Utah Valley, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming.

Saturday Dec. 29 at 11AM vs. North Carolina, 1PM vs. NDSU
Sunday Dec. 30 at 11AM vs. Cornell, 1PM vs. NC State

Last Time Out
Last time out the Hoosiers opened Big Ten dual competition with a road trip to Michigan State and #5 Michigan. The Hoosiers came up just short in a 16-15 loss at Michigan State. The Hoosiers won five matches against the Spartans. The next day Indiana fell 32-7 against #5 Michigan. Jake Danishek and Fletcher Miller earned major decision for the Hoosiers.
Dual Competition
The Hoosiers come in with a 2-3 overall mark with wins against SIUE and Northern Illinois and defeats against Virginia, Michigan State and #5 Michigan.
The Series vs. South Beach Dual Opponents
The Hoosiers have the most experience against NC State with six all-time matches. The Wolfpack lead the all-time series 5-1. Indiana most recently competed against North Dakota State and won 18-17 on a tiebreaker. The all-time series against NDSU is 2-0. The Hoosiers dropped their only meeting against UNC in 2002 and have once battled Cornell and lost 22-19 in 2008.
Wilkinson Hall
The Hoosiers will be opening a new arena, Wilkinson Hall on Sunday January 13 for their dual match against Maryland. Admission is free to the match, which will start at 2:00 p.m. ET.
