OPENING TIP
• The 118th season of Indiana basketball continues on Saturday when the Hoosiers travel to Illinois. Indiana is coming off a 78-68 win at home against Illinois, while Iowa fell on the road at Michigan, 74-59. Indiana won the first meeting this season in Bloomington, 77-64 on December 4.
• In the month of February, IU leads the Big Ten in scoring defense (57.5) and field goal percentage defense (36.3%) and is second in 3-point field goal defense percentage (31.9%).

THE COACHES
• Archie Miller is the 29th head coach in Indiana men's basketball history. He won his 150th career game with the triumph over Northwestern on Jan. 14. The 39-year old native of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, comes to IU after serving the previous six seasons as head coach at the University of Dayton, where he won Atlantic 10 Conference regular season championships in 2016 and 2017. He was Atlantic-10 Coach of the Year in 2017. He guided the Flyers to a 139-63 record (69.8) and a 68-34 mark (66.7) in the Atlantic 10. He took Dayton to the NCAA Tournament each of the last four years, with the Flyers advancing to the Elite Eight in the 2014 Tournament. UD was nationally ranked in 3 of Miller's 6 seasons (2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16).
• Fran McCaffery is in his 8th year as the head coach at Iowa.

• In the last 3 games, the Hoosier defense has allowed just 55.7 points on 32.7% shooting from the floor and 25.9% from 3-point range. On offense, IU shot a season-best 59% (26-44) against Illinois. It is the second straight game and the fifth time in the last eight games that IU has connected on 50% or better from the field. IU also is shooting 42.0% (21-50) from 3-point range in that same time frame.
• Junior Juwan Morgan continues to put together an All-Big Ten-type year. In the last 5 games, he has averaged 19.0 points and 8.8 rebounds and shot 57.1% from the floor. He is coming off his 8th double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds against Illinois. He also tied his career-high with 4 steals and established a career-best with 5 blocked shots against the Illini. He has scored 20 points or more in 10 games this season, including 8 in the Big Ten. He leads the Hoosiers in scoring (16.8) and is among the league leaders in rebounds (7.4) and field goal percentage (59.0%). He is the most improved scorer in the Big Ten, averaging 9.1 points per game more overall and 11.3 points better in conference play when compared to last season. He is averaging 18.6 points in the Big Ten play.
• Senior Robert Johnson has averaged 14.7 points and shot 54.8% in the last 3 games. He also has knocked down 42.9% of his long-distance attempts. He had 19 points at Rutgers and 21 points apiece against Purdue and Michigan State. Johnson posted his career-high with 28 points at Minnesota. He is now in 26th place on the IU all-time scoring list with 1,339 points and fourth on the school's all-time list with 223 treys.
• Junior walk-on Zach McRoberts entered the starting lineup 13 games ago and is averaging 1.9 steals per game in conference play to lead all Big Ten players. He is 4th at 1.5 thefts per game for the entire season.
• Sophomore Devonte Green has started the last 3 games and senior Freddie McSwain Jr. has started the last 4 contests. Green has averaged 10.7 points and made 6-of-9 3FG since starting and leads the team with 13 assists and is second with 5 steals. McSwain is averaging 7.3 points and 9.2 rebounds since joining the starting lineup and also has 6 blocked shots.
