Hoosiers Come Up Short at UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Indiana men's tennis team battled tough, but fell by a score of 4-0 against UCF on Friday at the USTA National Campus.
In doubles, the Hoosiers (8-8) won the first doubles match with a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles from Raheel Manji and Zac Brodney. UCF won at No. 3 doubles 6-3 and it came down to the No. 1 doubles match for the doubles point.
Antonio Cembellin and Afonso Salgado came back from down 5-3 to take a 6-5 lead, but could not close it out in a tiebreak 7-6 (7-4) as UCF won the doubles point.
In singles play four of the six matches went to three sets, but UCF captured three of them to clinch the match.
Up next the Hoosiers host their Big Ten home opener on March 23 at 6:00 p.m. ET against Illinois.
