Hoosiers Win Three Events at Stan Lyons Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Hoosiers won three events at the Stan Lyons Invitational Saturday afternoon to open their outdoor season.

On the men's side freshman Aaron Bennett ran unattached and won the 800m as well as the 1500m. Bennett earned the first place finish in the 800m with the time of 1:55.32. He ran the 1500m in 3:59.70.

In the 800m redshirt freshman Marcus Ellington was the second Hoosier to cross the finish line in 1:57.17 earning fourth place. Redshirt freshman Cameron Clements earned a ninth place finish with the time of 2:00.96. Freshman Reese Jordan ran unattached and closed out the race for the Hoosiers with the time of 2:01.60. In the 1500m Jordan (unattached) earned a fourth place finish with the time of 4:01.67. Clements closed out the race with the time of 4:06.40, earning an eighth place finish.

On the women's side freshman Claire Hamilton ran unattached and won the 800m and earned the highest finish for the Hoosier sin the 1500m. Hamilton earned the first place finish in the 800m with the time of 2:16.93. She crossed the finish line in the 1500m with the time of 4:35.68, earning third place.

In the 800m redshirt freshman Grace Walther took second place with the time of 2:18.38. Redshirt freshman Amy Smith earned a sixth place finish with the time of 2:21.49. Freshman Lorena Daugherty (unattached) closed out the race the Hoosiers with a 17^th place finish. In the 1500m Walther took sixth place with the final time of 4:41 and redshirt freshman Stacy Morozov crossed the finish line 17^th to close out the race.

The Hoosiers will be back in action next weekend at the Sun Devil Invitational in Tempe, Arizona.
