Hoosiers Led By Parsons and Harper on Day One of Clemson Invitational

Day One Results

SUNSET, SC - Freshman Mary Parsons and junior Erin Harper both turned in even rounds as the Hoosiers opened up play at the Clemson Invitational on Friday.

Their pair of 72's put them T-23^rd overall in the competitive field at The Reserve at Lake Keowee. Harper went par or birdied 16 of 18 holes in the tournament's opening round while Parsons was guided by her four consecutive birdies on the front nine, finishing the day with six total.

Freshman Priscilla Schmid finished 1-over (73) in T-34^th as Indiana sits T-10^th with Oklahoma as a team combining for a 295 which is seven strokes separating 5^th through 10^th place. Senior Pear Siriko saw her first action of the season with a 78 (T74th) while freshman Angela Aung rounded out the IU scorecard with an 80 (T76th).

Furman and Michigan State are tied for the lead while Ohio State, host Clemson and Vanderbilt round out the top five. IU is back in action tomorrow with another 18 holes with tee times beginning for the field at 8 a.m.
