Final Results

FRESNO, Calif. – Junior Erin Harper collected her first career medalist honor shooting 5-under par as Indiana finished second overall at the Fresno State Classic.

Harper went 2-under in Tuesday's final round and tied UC Irvine's Avery Finch with a 211 to finish two strokes over Nishtha Madan of Sacramento State. The Dublin, Ohio native shot a 70 in the final round to go along with a 70 and 71 as her 211 is tied for the third-best three round individual performance in school history (Shannon Johnson, 2006). Harper carded four more birdies to add to her total of 12 in the tournament. The win is the first medalist honors for an Indiana player this season and first since Alix Kong won the IU Invitational in 2017.

The Hoosiers combined for its lowest round of the tournament, finishing up with a 291 and 833, finishing 18 strokes behind winner Sacramento State and 14 strokes ahead of third place host Fresno State. Freshman Mary Parsons also closed out the event on a high note finishing sixth overall for her second top 10 finish of her career. She completed the round with a 71 to finish with a total of 219 as she chipped in three birdies with a 1-under on the front nine.

Sophomore Elisa Pierre carded 74 and finished T18th with a 226 as she also had three birdies. Rounding out IU's lineup was freshman Priscilla Schmid in T31st (231) and senior Alix Kong in T33rd (232). Individually, sophomore Carolina Garrett completed the round T50th (239).

The Hoosiers return to the course when they travel south of the border to take part in the Hawkeye El Tigre in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico on March 16-17.
