Hoosiers Secure 5-2 Victory over Penn State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – In their mast home match of the season, the Indiana women's tennis team came away with a 5-2 win against Penn State on Sunday at the IU Tennis Center.
With the win, the Hoosiers improve to 16-9 overall, which is their most wins since they won 16 matches in the 2014-15 season.
In her last home match for Indiana, senior Xiwei Cai came through for the Hoosiers with a three-set singles match victory to put Indiana up 3-1 against the Nittany Lions. Cai also won her singles match in the Hoosiers match vs. Ohio State on Friday.
From senior, to freshman, freshman Jelly Bozovic rebounded from a first set loss to win her next two sets to clinch the match victory for the Hoosiers. The win was her 18th singles win of the season, with 11 of them coming in dual match play.
Natalie Whalen (6-3, 6-2) and Caitlin Bernard (6-3, 5-7, 6-2) also won singles matches for the Hoosiers.
Up next the Hoosiers close out the regular season on the road with matches at Maryland (April 20) and at Rutgers (April 22). The Big Ten Tournament starts April 26 in Minneapolis, Minn.
