Day 1 Results

Maineville, Ohio - Indiana Women's Golf opened up play at the Big Ten Championships on Friday at TPC River's Bend led by a trio of 75s, as they sit in 11th after the first 18 holes.

After starting off the day in a frost delay, the Hoosiers got off to a bit of a slow start before pulling the round together in the back nine. Freshman Mary Parsons, senior Kong and freshman Priscilla Schmid improved along with the afternoon weather, all coming in a tie for 31st to close the day with each posting a 75. Parsons and Kong each chipping in four birdies in the back nine while Schmid added two.

As a team, Indiana is 11^th overall by collecting a 301, just two strokes behind tied for eighth place Iowa and Wisconsin and 10^th place Nebraska. Michigan State, Maryland and Ohio State are leading the field.

Junior Erin Harper is one stroke behind with a 76 (T41st) while sophomore Elisa Pierre carded a 78 (T58th). Sophomore Carolina Garrett finished out the IU scorecard with an 86 (T82nd). Round two of the Big Ten Tournament (18 holes) begins with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. ET tomorrow morning.
