• Indiana (29-8, 7-4) travels to Purdue on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. for a non-conference matchup with the Boilermakers. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
• Wednesday will be the 287th ever meeting between IU and Purdue. The two squads last met in Bloomington earlier this month, with the Hoosiers earning the series win, 2-1.
• Indiana leads the all-time series between the two schools, 151-133-2.
• Indiana Head Coach Chris Lemonis is in his fourth season leading the Hoosier baseball program and his 24th overall year in coaching. He has posted a 130-80-2 record and has led the program to two regional at-large bids in his first three full seasons.
• Purdue head coach Mark Wasikowski is in his second season at the helm of the Boilermakers baseball program. Prior to Purdue, he was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the Universities of Oregon, Arizona, Florida as well as Southeast Missouri State.
• The Hoosiers are ranked in all five national polls. IU is ranked 12th by Perfect Game, 15th by D1 Baseball, 15th by the NCBWA, 16th in the ESPN/USA Today Coahes Poll, and 18th by Baseball America.
• The Hoosiers are 20-4 in their last 24 games and have not lost more than two games in a row so far this season.
• Of the eight losses this season for Indiana, six have been three runs or less and four have been by one run.
• The IU pitching staff leads the nation in ERA (2.38), is first in the Big Ten in shutouts (7, 3rd nationally), WHIP (1.21, 12th), walks per nine innings (3.01, 15ht), and strikeout to walk ratio (2.63, 31st), and is third in hits per nine innings (7.9, 42nd), opponent average (.235) and strikeouts (300).
• Offensively, Indiana is first in the Big Ten in doubles (75, 46th nationally), 2nd in slugging percentage (.456, 24th), on base percentage (.395, 32nd), home runs (39, 34th) and total bases (578), and is third in batting average (.292, 40th), runs per game (6.8, 46th) and hits (370).
