• Indiana (20-5) hosts in state rival Purdue this weekend at Bart Kaufman Field.

• Friday will be the 279th ever meeting between IU and Purdue as the two squads met last year, with the Boilermakers taking two of three games in West Lafayette.

• IU leads the all-time series between the two schools, 145-131-2.

• Indiana Head Coach Chris Lemonis is in his fourth season leading the Hoosier baseball program and his 24th overall year in coaching. He has posted a 121-77-2 record and has led the program to two regional at-large bids in his first three full seasons.

• Purdue head coach Mark Wasikowski is in his second season at the helm of the Boilermakers baseball program. Prior to Purdue, he was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the Universities of Oregon, Arizona, Florida as well as Southeast Missouri State.

• The Hoosiers entered the week ranked in all six polls. IU is ranked 10th by D1Baseball.com, 11th by the NCBWA and in the USA Today Coaches Poll, 12th by Perfect Game, 13th by Collegiate Baseball, and 16th by Baseball America.

• On Friday, IU will be playing its fifth game in an eight-game stretch against teams from the state of Indiana. The Hoosiers are 4-0 in those games so far.

• Entering Tuesday, junior Matt Lloyd has reached base in 21 straight games, which includes a 10-game hitting streak.

• In the four victories last week, junior Ryan Fineman went 9-of-16 with seven RBI and four runs scored to go along with two extra base hits (double, home run).

• The IU pitching staff is first in the Big Ten in ERA (2.68, 6th nationally), shutouts (4, T-11th), walks per nine innings (3.04, 23rd), WHIP (1.28), and strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.59, 42nd).

• Offensively, Indiana is second in the Big Ten in HR per game (1.0, 33rd nationally), and hit by pitch (37), third in batting average (.286) and on base percentage (.378), and is fourth in doubles (49).

• The 20-5 start for the Hoosiers is their best 25-game start since 2013, when that squad opened the year going 22-3.
