BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 6-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team defeated the No. 22 Dartmouth Big Green, 3-0, on Friday night in the 2018 adidas/IU Credit Union Classic at Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
KEY MOMENTS
• After a scoreless first 20 minutes, Andrew Gutman gave the Hoosiers (2-1) the lead, deflecting in a free kick for his first goal of the season.
• In the 70th minute, Gutman played a beautiful through-ball to Griffin Dorsey, finding the sophomore in space. Dorsey beat the Dartmouth (0-1) keeper on the breakaway to net his team-leading second goal of the year.
• Senior Austin Panchot capped the Hoosier scoring in the 79th minute, netting his first score of the year on a shot from the top of the box.
NOTABLES
• Gutman finished the match with a goal and an assist for the Hoosiers. Also tallying assists in the victory were Cory Thomas, Trevor Swartz and Spencer Glass.
• Sophomore GK Trey Muse recorded his first shutout of the season, giving him 19 for his career. Muse ranks in a tie for 12th all-time at Indiana in shutouts.
• For the match, IU out-shot the Big Green, 11-2, getting six shots on-goal to none for Dartmouth. IU also had the advantage in corner kicks, 4-0.
• The Hoosiers are looking to win three-straight matches against ranked opponents for the first time since 2012 on Sunday when the team faces No. 18 UConn.
• A total of 19 players saw action for the Hoosiers on Friday night, with eight different players recording at least one shot.
