Hoosiers Travel to Columbus for Midweek Match vs. Ohio State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana volleyball team will play their first midweek match of the season as they travel to Columbus for a match on Wednesday Sept. 26, which will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Opening of Big Ten Play
The Hoosiers went 1-1 to open conference action as they beat Northwestern 3-1 and pushed No. 8 Illinois to five sets, ultimately falling to the Fighting Illini in that match. In the win against the Wildcats, junior Deyshia Lofton connected on 14 kills on 20 attempts with no errors to hit .700 for the match. Redshirt junior Kendall Beerman led the Hoosiers in kills with 16 against Northwestern and sophomore libero Bayli Lebo registered her fifth 20 or more digs performance with 20.
Back at Home
The Hoosiers will be back at home on Saturday Sept. 29 for a 7:00 p.m. match against No. 6 Minnesota. There will be a student tailgate one hour before the start of the match and IU tumblers will be given away inside the main entrance to the gym.

• The Hoosiers are 10-3 on the season and 1-1 in Big Ten matches.
• Deyshia Lofton leads the Hoosiers in kills in Big Ten play with 23 and is hitting .463 combined in the two Big Ten matches.
• Lofton ranks third in the Big Ten in hitting percentage for the season at .399 and ranks 11th in blocks at 1.23 blocks per set.
• Freshman Breana Edwards is second on the team in kills with 156 and has notched double-digit kills in nine straight matches. Edwards ranks third among Big Ten freshmen in kills.
• Kendall Beerman leads the Hoosiers in kills with 161 and is second on the team in digs with 142.
• Sophomore Bayli Lebo has recorded 20 or more digs in five matches this season and leads the Hoosiers in aces with 15.
