• The Hoosiers won the coin toss and elected to defer for the second time in as many games in 2018.
• Senior safety Jonathan Crawford, fifth-year senior offensive lineman Wes Martin, senior defensive lineman Jacob Robinson and fifth-year senior wide receiver Luke Timian served as tonight's captains for the second straight game.
OFFENSE
• True freshman Stevie Scott became the 12th true freshman in program history to reach the 100-yard rushing mark. The Syracuse, N.Y., native finished with 204 yards on 31 carries (6.6 average) with his first career touchdown, a 40-yarder. His 204 yards are the second-most for an IU true freshman back, three shy of Anthony Thompson's mark back in 1986.
• Scott is the first Indiana running back to reach 200 yards since Devine Redding raced for 227 in the 2015 Pinstripe Bowl. His 40-yarder was the team's first 40-yard run since Ricky Brookins raced 64 yards in the 2017 finale at Purdue on Nov. 25.
• Redshirt junior wideout Donavan Hale reached the end zone for the third time this season when he collected a 9-yard TD in the opening stanza. Hale closed out the contest with team-high in catches (4) and yardage (56).
• Fellow redshirt junior wide receiver Nick Westbrook collected his first score of the year and the eighth of his career, from 23 yards out, in the second quarter. Westbrook finished with 26 yards on two catches.
• Peyton Ramsey recorded his fifth career multi-touchdown game and his second straight to open 2018. The redshirt sophomore tossed two TDs and went 16-of-22 (.727) for 150 yards. Ramsey added 27 yards on the ground.
• Luke Timian made a pair of receptions for 32 yards. He is three catches shy of 100 and one yard shy of 1,000 in his career.
• Sophomore wide receiver Ty Fryfogle and true freshman running back Stevie Scott earned their first career starts.
DEFENSE
• Indiana limited UVA to 294 total yards and just 106 through the air. IU limited four opponents under 300 total yards and four under 150 passing yards in 2017.
• Safety Jonathan Crawford made the 40th start of his career tonight. The senior led the Hoosiers with seven tackles (6 solo).
• Redshirt sophomore husky Marcelino Ball recorded his 100th career tackle in the second quarter.
• Senior defensive lineman Jacob Robinson notched his 50th career tackle. Robinson finished the night with three stops (2 solo).
• Junior defensive lineman Allen Stallings IV forced the second fumble of his career, his first coming against Wisconsin in 2017. Stallings also had three solo tackles, two for loss.
