NOTES: IU Back At Home To Host Nebraska on Monday

Indiana University is in its 119th season of competition in men's basketball. The Hoosiers are ranked 22nd in the AP Poll and 24th in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Hoosiers will look to snap a two-game losing streak after falling to Maryland, Friday night. Nebraska is coming off a 70-64 win at home over Penn State.
THE COACHES
Indiana Coach Archie Miller is in his 2nd season of guiding the Cream and Crimson. He has a 28-19 record and 12-11 ledger in the Big Ten since taking over the Hoosiers. He is 167-83 in 7-plus years as a head coach, which includes 6 years at the University of Dayton. His Flyer teams made NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his last four seasons, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2014. Nebraska is led by Tim Miles who is in his 7th year of leading the Cornhuskers.

• IU is rated 23rd in the NET. IU is in a stretch where it will play 6 of 8 on the road from January 6 to February 2. The Hoosiers completed their first undefeated calendar month (6-0 in December) since going 7-0 in November 2012.
• Senior forward Juwan Morgan and freshman guard Romeo Langford were selected to the 10-member Preseason All-Big Ten team. Both are among 50 players listed as candidates for the 2019 Naismith Trophy and Langford is among 20 players on the NABC Player of the Year watch list and 25 players up for the Wooden Award. Langford was named third-team Preseason All-American by ESPN.com and CBSSports.com and earned fourth-team honors from WatchStadium.com. Morgan also is up for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award.
• Morgan earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors and USBWA Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week accolades after his record-setting 35-point effort against Butler. He has scored 1,094 career points and is 2nd in the B1G in double-doubles with 6.
• Langford's 20-point effort in his first Big Ten game is the most by an IU true freshman in their first conference outing since Eric Gordon had 25 in his first B1G contest at Iowa in 2008. He is the only Hoosier to score in double digits every game and has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week three times. including this week. He matched his season-high with 28 points at Maryland and is averaging 24.3 points, while shooting 55.3% from the field and 41.7% from long distance in the last 3 games. He also has made 26 of 30 free throws in that stretch. Among the 388 players in Division I to take at least 50 shots at the basket in half-court settings, he ranks 1st in finishing efficiency at 78%. • The Hoosier are 10th in the country in 2-point field goal percentage at 58.8% and in effective field goal percentage at 57.5%.
• Nebraska owns a two-game winning streak over the Hoosiers and is 5-4 against IU since joining the Big Ten for the 2011-12 season.
• Isiah Roby and Glynn Watson are the only players who have appeared in a game at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for Nebraska.
• Nebraska is the first one-play Big Ten opponent IU will face at Assembly Hall. The others are Ohio State and Wisconsin. The Hoosiers have already visited road only opponents Penn State and Maryland and will travel to Minnesota in February.
• Forward Justin Smith had 16 points and 8 rebounds in Lincoln a year ago. In the last 5 games, he is shooting 81.5% from the field hitting 22 of 27 field goal attempts.
• Guard Rob Phinisee is second among freshman in the Big Ten making 44.8% of his 3FG attempts and leads in assists and is second in steals.
• Guard Romeo Langford is averaging 22.0 ppg in conference play. The only IU freshman to ever average more than 20.0 points per game in the Big Ten in a season was Eric Gordon (20.8) in 2007-08. Other frosh to averaged 20.0 or more include DeAngelo Russell (OSU, 2015), Kris Humphries (Minn., 2004), Michael Redd (OSU, 1998) and Glen Robinson (Purdue, 1993).
• All Big Ten forward Juwan Morgan improved his scoring from his freshman year to junior year by 14.1 points, the highest of any active Big Ten player. He played that entire first year with a separated shoulder and managed to help the team win a Big Ten title. He is shooting 42.1% (8 of 19) from three-point range in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• Indiana is the only Big Ten school to win 2 outright regular season titles this decade (2013, 2016).
