NEWS & NOTES
IU is rated 44th in the NET and joins Kansas and Michigan State as the only teams in the country to play 11 Quadrant 1 games. IU is in a stretch where it plays 6-of-8 on the road from Jan. 6 to Feb. 2, then finishes the season with 6 of 9 at home beginning February 7.
Senior forward Juwan Morgan and freshman guard Romeo Langford were selected to the 10-member Preseason All-Big Ten team. Both are among 50 players listed as candidates for the 2019 Naismith Trophy and Langford is among 20 players on the NABC Player of the Year watch list and 25 players up for the Wooden Award. Langford was named third-team Preseason All-American by ESPN.com and CBSSports.com and earned fourth-team honors from WatchStadium.com. Morgan also is up for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award.
Langford is the top freshman scorer in the conference averaging 17.2 ppg. He had 28-point efforts against Illinois and Maryland earlier. He has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week 4 times.

In his last two games Morgan has averaged 17.0 points and 11.5 rebounds after back-to-back double-doubles against Northwestern and Michigan.
The Hoosiers have won all three meetings against Rutgers in the RAC since the Scarlet Knights joined the league in 2015. Last year, IU won 65-43 and held Rutgers to 24.1% shooting in that game. Morgan led the team with 24-points and 8 rebounds. The Scarlet Knights got revenge against IU knocking them off in the Big Ten Tournament, 76-69. Guard Geo Baker added 15 points off the bench.
