EVANSTON, Ill. – The No. 8-ranked Indiana University men's soccer team defeated the Northwestern Wildcats, 3-1, in Evanston, Ill. in Big Ten league play on Tuesday night.

KEY MOMENTS
• In the 37^th, Maouloune Goumballe got the Hoosiers (6-1-2, 2-0 Big Ten) on the board with a goal near the front left post from three-yards out. The freshman's goal gave IU a short-lived lead, with Northwestern (5-4-1, 0-1-1) tying the match under three minutes later on a goal from Ugo Achara Jr.
• In the second half, the Hoosiers benefited took the lead in the 58^th minute. Goumballe found Penn on the left side, who's shot to the far post was deflected in for the score.
• Freshman Aidan Morris' first goal of his career served as insurance for the Hoosiers in the 66^th minute. Goumballe sent a great pass in from the near right side in to the box finding his classmate Morris, who buried the one-time effort from eight-yards out.

NOTABLES
• With the victory, Indiana remains undefeated in the team's last 30 regular-season, Big Ten matches, posting a record of 21-0-9, including a 10-0-0 mark in the last 10 contests.
• IU's last league loss in the regular season came on Oct. 10, 2015 in overtime at Ohio State, 1-0.
• Indiana has won five-straight against Northwestern and is undefeated (8-0-6) in the team's last 14 matches versus the Wildcats.
• The Hoosiers out-shot NU, 11-9, on the night and had a 5-3 advantage in shots on-goal.
• Corner kicks were even at 3-3.
• Freshman Roman Celentano made two saves in his collegiate debut.
