BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Women's Soccer scored an early goal in the 10th minute to push the Hoosiers past Ohio State 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Aliana Kalin scored the game-winning goal.

KEY MOMENTS
• In the 10^th minute of action on Sunday, Alaina Kalin scored what would turn out to the game-winning goal. Fellow freshman Avery Lockwood recorded the assist.
• Ohio State saw a dangerous chance in the 37^th minute but Bethany Kopel was able to control it for her first save of the game.
• Megan Wampler, Allison Jorden, and Jacelyn Smith had back-to-back-back shot off a corner kick in the 79^th minute. Wampler's shot was blocked by an Ohio State defender before Jorden's chance was pushed out by the Buckeyes goalkeeper. Smith's shot went wide of the net.
• The Indiana defense remained vigilant to close out the game. The Buckeyes had two shots in the final minutes, one of the which Kopel came up big with a save and the other opportunity was wide of the target.

NOTABLES
• Indiana improves to 7-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the Big Ten.
• With the victory, the Hoosiers have now shutout seventh of their opponents this season.
• Alain Kalin led the Hoosiers with three shots and one goal. Indiana outshot the Buckeyes 12-8.
• Bethany Kopel recorded five saves on the afternoon. This was her seventh shutout of the season.
• Indiana University President Michael McRobbie and First Lady Laurie Burns McRobbie attended today's match as part of their Bicentennial Campaign to visit a home game of all 24 sports.

"Great win for us against a team in the same position as us. We played well in the first half and dominated with the ball, scored a great goal and probably should have scored another. We went into protection mode a bit too early in the 2nd half and stopped playing. I'm so proud of our overall performance today."

Indiana Women's Soccer heads to the east coast to take on Maryland at 6p on Thursday October 17 before heading to Rutgers on Sunday Oct. 20. The match vs. the Scarlet Knights is slated for 1p start.
