Hoosiers Split Weekend with Iowa at Home on Friday, at Ohio on Sunday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.— Indiana Field Hockey (4-9, 1-5) will split their final two game weekend as they host Iowa (10-3, 4-1) on Friday Oct. 18 at 3p before traveling to Athens, Ohio to take on Ohio (6-5, 3-1 MAC) on Sunday Oct. 20 at 11a. Friday's match will stream live on BTN+.

CORNER HITS
LAST TIME: EAST COAST WEEKEND
Indiana Field Hockey spend the past weekend on the east coast at No. 19 Rutgers and No. 2 Maryland. Against the Scarlet Knights on Friday, the Hoosiers battled until the end but a goal in the last minute pushed Rutgers to 3-2 victory. Senior Sheridan Weiss scored in the closing minutes of the first quarter while Sophomore Hailey Couch netted a second quarter goal.
On Sunday at Maryland, Indiana put up a good fight but the Terrapins proved hard to handle as the Hoosiers dropped the contest, 6-0.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
With the victory over Drexel on Sept. 1, head coach Kayla Bashore earned her first career win at the helm of the field hockey program. On the field, freshmen Tori Hill earned her first career start in an Indiana uniform. Hill also recorded her first shot of her career at Saint Louis on Sept. 13 and first assist on Sept. 20 at Michigan State. Freshman Kennedy Reardon scored her first career goal that was unassisted off a deflected shot. Senior Sheridan Weiss also saw her first game where she had the game winning goal.
WORTH NOTING
Hailey Couch leads the Indiana offense with eight goals and one assist to tally 17 points.
Junior Rylee Pearson has recorded three defensive saves this season. She ranks first in the Big Ten and fifth in the nation. Pearson recorded two at Rutgers this past weekend and one in the match vs. Fairfield on Sept. 15.
Seniors Ciara Girouard and Kelsey Giese were named captains for 2019 season.
