IUWS Falls In Overtime to No. 22 Rutgers, 1-0

PISCATAWAY, N.J.— On a cloud covered Sunday afternoon, Indiana forced No. 22 Rutgers to overtime but an early goal in overtime by the Scarlet Knights proved to be the difference maker as the Hoosiers were edged, 1-0.
KEY MOMENTS
• Melanie Forbes had the first shot from either team in the second minute. She couldn't get the ball on target as it went wide of the net.
• Senior Captain Chandra Davidson fired off a shot 35th minute but couldn't get in to fall as it was pushed out of play by a Rutgers defender for a corner kick.
• Indiana took their corner of the match at the 35 minute mark. Oliwia Wos sent the ball into the box but the Scarlet Knights were able to clear it.
• In the 61st minute, Bethany Kopel made a diving save to keep the game scoreless.
NOTABLES
• Indiana is now 7-7-2 overall and 3-4-2 in the Big Ten Conference.
• The Hoosiers let up their first goal after going 208 minutes keeping the opponent scoreless. The last goal came when Indiana played Penn State on Oct. 10.
• Bethany Kopel had five saves on throughout the afternoon.
• Chandra Davidson and Melanie Forbes led the Hoosiers one shot a piece.
